Mike and Carol Shipley fell in love with the Florida Keys many years ago. They made a commitment to some day own and operate a small motel in this unique part of the world. Their dream came true in December of 2000 , when they purchased the Island Bay Resort. Mike and Carol have always loved the ocean. They are both avid divers, certified since 1982. Both of them made their first ocean dive in the Florida Keys. They have owned both sail and motor boats, so understanding water craft has never been an issue. They plan to take up fishing as they now live near the sport fishing capital of the world, Islamorada. Together, Mike and Carol have 45 years in the hospitality business.
